At 'What's all the Drama?', we are committed to high-quality drama classes for both adults and kids. Our focus is on empowerment and education through acting. Our approach aims to nurture talent, boost confidence, and inspire creativity in a supportive and engaging environment.

About our founder:

I’m Leanne; I graduated with a BA Hons from the University of Sunderland in 2016. After that, I took an interest in using drama as a means of empowering people. I worked with organisations in prisons and community settings to rehabilitate and as a preventative measure to empower young people and adults into a better life. I’ve worked with other organisations, leading drama workshops for young people in North Lanarkshire and I’m now at the point where I’m ready to follow my own mantra, empowering myself to deliver the kind of classes I think could make a real impact.

Classes

Classes will run according to school term time.

Adult classes are a place to learn new skills, meet new people, and have some fun in a safe space. Perfect for those who want to try something new or for the seasoned pro, all are welcome to join in the fun in an inclusive environment. If you're an actor this is a space to flex your muscles and keep things fresh between jobs. Classes will feature subjects such as improvisation, character creation, and script analysis, as well as audition techniques and acting for camera classes. Pay each week or book a block of classes that can be used at any time allowing you to dip in and out around your schedule.

Kids classes are about fun, engagement, and empowerment. Building confidence, self-esteem, and social skills through the power of play. Each group will look at age-appropriate theatrical skills and techniques, such as role-play, scene work, and devising, with themes that are relevant to their world. Drama for children has huge benefits for their development on a personal level and academically. At our classes the kids will build friendships and gain trust in each other. They’ll have confidence in themselves and their abilities. Classes will run during school term time keeping life simple, with summer and winter performances to showcase all their skills. Creative Co-lab is a 16-week program where the group creates and produces a project of their own devising. It could be a stage show, a short film, or a collection of poemsmonologues covering any theme or topic the group agrees on. The options are endless! No matter your creative background or skill set, everyone will be able to offer something to the project. We'll have 12 weeks of devising and 4 weeks to produce. Each 2-hour session includes creativity-inspiring games and exercises, and time to discuss and write. Industry professionals will drop in on sessions to offer guidance and support and aid with the production of the piece, whatever you decide it to be. Keep an eye out for upcoming programs. For ages 18+.

Audition prep is one-to-one coaching to help you nail that big audition. It could be your audition for drama school or your big exam, maybe even your next big role. Perhaps you have to make a big speech and need practice and guidance on how to connect with your audience. From helping you select your piece to choosing your outfit, these sessions are tailored to your specific needs and will ensure you stand out from the crowd.
